Mack “Papi” Allison IV, 9-3-1 (7 KOs) was looking to maintain momentum in what was essentially a hometown fight at the MGM National Harbor on Saturday, May 25th. His opponent, Luis Gerardo Perez Salas, 6-2 (1 KO), had other plans.
After a slower paced start to the fight, the two slugged it out in spurts over the latter half of their six-round contest to open things up on the #HaneyMoran undercard. Allison IV used his defense to force Perez Salas to miss many shots, but not enough to sway the judges.
Perez Salas was able to secure a unanimous decision victory with scores 59-55 from all three judges. This ended a two-fight slide for Perez Salas and he heads back to Mexico with a win in his first fight of 2019.
